What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so that it can recognize the device on the next visit. Under the ePrivacy Directive and the California CCPA/CPRA, non-essential cookies require informed consent before being placed.
Cookies Casita does use
Technical (strictly necessary)
None on the first party. The site is fully usable without cookies. We do store a few values in localStorage for your convenience (saved scenarios, rate alerts, preferred country); these are not cookies and are never transmitted to our server.
Third-party advertising — Google AdSense
Casita serves ads through Google AdSense. AdSense may place cookies such as IDE, NID, DSID, __gads, __gpi. Their purposes are:
- Delivering and rendering ads.
- Frequency capping (avoid showing the same ad repeatedly).
- Measuring conversions and ad performance.
- Personalization (only after your explicit consent).
Their retention varies from 30 days to 13 months. For full detail, see Google's cookies policy and AdSense cookie usage.
Managing your consent
If we detect you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Casita displays a consent dialog (Google Funding Choices, certified under IAB TCF v2.2) with equally prominent Accept and Reject all controls. Outside those regions the EU consent regime does not apply, but California residents can opt out via the Do Not Sell or Share link in the footer.
You can change your decision at any time: scroll to the footer and click Privacy settings, or clear site data from your browser.
Browser-level controls
All major browsers let you block or delete cookies. The links below are vendor documentation:
